THE CASE OF NON-ENGLISH-MAJOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Learning a new language is one of the most challenging tasks that students might face. Students’ motivation, among other factors, has been argued to have an essential role in language learning. This presentation is aimed at finding out whether students who do not major in English are motivated to learn the English language, and if there are any factors that affect students’ motivation. Based on the results, some recommendations are made to increase students’ motivation to learn English, and thus to improve their performance.
