Roz Jamal, a student of English at Komar University, is trying to invent a new genre of poetry, “The Emoticonic Lyric”. The use of emoticons and symbols for words, brevity and satire constitute the main characteristics of the genre. Her poem “Life” is an example of this new poetic genre.
