KUST participates in the 7th Scientific Conference of the University of Human Development

On 13^th and 14^th April 2019, Asst. Prof. Dr. Zanyar Faiq Saeed, the Chairperson of the Department of English at Komar University of Science and Technology, participated in the 7^th Scientific Conference of the University of Human Development. In the conference, he presented a paper titled “She, Robot: Mechanisation of Ophelia in Shakespeare’s Hamlet” wherein he explained how Ophelia is objectified into a machine by her brother, Laertes; her father, Polonius; and her lover, Hamlet respectively. It is worth mentioning that the presentation was received with applause for its thought-provoking topic and new reading of Ophelia’s character.
