Panel Discussion on “Youth, Democracy, and Opportunities.”

On September 18, 2024, the Department of English faculty attended a panel discussion hosted by the American University in Sulaymaniyah with Ambassador Stephen Hitchen from the British Consulate General in Erbil.  The  discussion was titled “Youth, Democracy, and Opportunities.” It mostly emphasized the need for a greater willingness among the youth to engage actively in political processes and exercise their civic rights in the upcoming elections. It also focused on the challenges that students and young adults, in general, might face in their lives and in their studies.  The ambassador also answered questions from the audience about the topic.
