A seminar on Brain and Language

Mr. Kochar Saeed, one of the faculty members of the English department, presented a seminar entitled “Brain and Language” on Monday, February 17th. He Introduced the process of language in brain and how does each part of brain work in this regard. He further explained the responsibility of each part of the brain during activities such as speaking, writing, and listening. He talked about the process of inputting, namely reading and seeing, and also the process of producing language, i.e. speaking and writing.

Mr. Kochar clarified what aphasia is, and he described the aphasia as one of the major inabilities in the process of language and how the parts of brain function due to this problem. He explained what happens when a part of the brain is not working properly or injured. In this regard, the different kind of aphasia and their effects on the patients were extensively discussed. In the last part of the seminar, Mr. Kocher explained the symptoms of aphasia.
